My Teaching Philosophy

As an Early Childhood Educator, I believe that children are capable of exploring and understanding the world through play and various experiences. Their natural curiosity and need to explore help young children to develop a variety of skills and build their sense of self-confidence. I strive to provide young children with multiple learning opportunities to explore and experiment in a safe and inclusive environment. My role is to initiate learning experiences and motivate children to participate while observing and guiding them through, and offering help when needed; my role is to encourage participation and involvement, while anticipating the moment when to step back and give children an opportunity to handle whatever they are doing by themselves. It provides children with a sense of capability and independence.

The other important part of my philosophy is interacting with children with respect and teaching them to respect others. I believe that social interaction is the most important area of development in early years: positive and respectful interactions with caregivers and peers help to build a young person. Therefore, young children should be exposed to many peer interactions in an inclusive and supportive environment in order to develop harmoniously.

As an ECE I believe in play-based planning, where children can be led by their own interests and free exploration: I plan activities so they would be open-ended and process oriented.

My goal as a passionate Early Childhood Educator, is to provide children with a sense of belonging, expression and well-being in a safe and inclusive environment. All children have the right to develop and grow in a nurturing and safe environment where they will be able to play and learn at their own pace while building self-esteem and a foundation to succeed.
